A Sentimental Journey

Our adopted theme for our 1937 Honeymoon Trip Take Two has been “Sentimental Journey” by Les Brown and His Band of Renown, Doris Day as singer.  Though the song was first released in 1945, its words and music seem to capture the times, our moments of being “taken back,” and then, planning for this trip.  We are so happy and blessed this photo album of Carl’s parents came into our world two years ago.  Let the journey begin!  “Seven that’s the time we leave, at seven.”

Gonna take a sentimental journey
Gonna set my heart at ease
Gonna make a sentimental journey
To renew old memories . . .

Got my bag, got my reservation
Spent each dime I could afford
Like a child in wild anticipation
Long to hear that “All aboard”

Lyrics by Bud Green
